After more than twenty successful years in business in Aberdeen which has seen us establish nine shops across the City, we were proud to introduce our long anticipated training academy in 2012 - The Barbers Pole Academy.
The Academy and the courses have been designed by director Irene Mair along with consultant Ian Turnbull. Both having run their own salons with in house training in the past and trained many candidates to Level II SVQ standard and Ian also teaching at Aberdeen College for many years.
Drawing on this unparalleled depth and breadth of knowledge and practical experience of barbering and running salons in the North East, all of our courses focus on the practical and hands on elements of barbering. With the courses held in working salons and with low pupil – teacher ratios candidates can be assured of gaining the invaluable skills and experience that they require for this competitive and exciting industry.
To date and without exception all our students have provided the Academy with glowing feedback from - "I have learned more in 10 weeks (30 hours) with yourselves than I have done in two years at college" to "The patience and guidance shown from my trainer was beyond my expectations" Our in salon training sessions prompted one employer to say that the refresher training provided by the academy was "exactly what was required to hone the barbering skills of my already experienced stylists with the trainer focusing on the particular needs of each and every individual".
This year we will be offering our three main courses again whilst promoting our bespoke packages for in salon training sessions.
Diploma Courses include:
• Bespoke In-House Courses
• Introduction to Barbering (no experience required)
• Complete Barbering Course (covering and exceeding SVQ level II)
• Refresher Course
We will be running daytime classes as well as evening classes!
